I changed my mind about something
Yoga Explorer | JAN 27

We’d spend the holidays with my cousins who lived far away, and the house would be packed in the best way — my grandparents, aunts, uncles… people everywhere. We’d play games, snack constantly, stay up too late. It felt busy and loud and alive.
And then January hit.
Everyone left. School started again. Summer felt like it was a million years away. I remember thinking, “Well… that’s it. Nothing fun is happening for a loooooooooong time.” 😅
But lately… I don’t hate January.
I actually kind of like it.
It’s quieter. There’s less pressure to make everything “a thing.” I get to exhale a little. Just be. Just exist. And honestly, I don’t mind that.
This winter in NC has definitely made me cancel some plans (ice wins, every time), but it’s still been a good month. Long walks in the snow. A few solid pajama days. Slower mornings that feel like a reset without trying so hard to be one.
And we still managed to squeeze in some really sweet yoga moments in between the snowstorms.
We had the day retreat on Jan 11 — and I keep thinking about how good it felt to be in a room with people who showed up fully. The practice, the conversations, the little moments that stick.
I'm in the process of adding a few pictures to the website, so if you missed the retreat this time, and are curious about how it was.... stay tuned.....
And if you’re reading this in sweatpants (same), hit reply and tell me: what’s January been like for you this year?
With warmth,
Tina
