and this is what he answers every single time 🙂

I’m standing at the kitchen counter, looking out at my bird feeder attached to the window, thinking maybe it’s time to take it down and put up the hummingbird feeder instead.
I’m talking on the phone with one of my sons, the middle one, the one who goes to school in Virginia. He is coming home for the weekend, and I ask what I always ask. He answers what he always answers.
Me: What do you want me to cook for dinner when you get home?
He: Something I haven’t eaten before.
If I have raised a son that takes every opportunity that comes his way to expand, to live life to the fullest, and to try new things whenever possible, then I feel like I have done something right.
I’m a lot like that too. Maybe that is why his answer makes so much sense to me.
I don’t really have a favorite restaurant. On the rare occasion I go out, I always want to go to a place I have not been before. If I go hiking, I always want to hike a new trail.
And yes, I rarely make the same recipe twice.
Of course there is comfort in the known, but life is meant to be lived, and to grow we need to try new things...........
