A Moment That Stuck With Me

I recently spoke with a young man in his early twenties. He had gone to business school — not because he loved it, but because it was expected. His dad wanted him to take over the family business.
But deep down, he wanted something different.
He craved simplicity. Working with his hands. Living by the water.
So, he moved to the coast. Started trade school. And is now learning to build boats.
There was a quiet certainty in his voice — like someone who had finally given themselves permission to follow what felt real.
His story reminded me of the power of tuning in.
Of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be — and becoming who we truly are. Sometimes, it comes with salt in your hair and sawdust on your hands.
His story is a quiet encouragement:
So maybe this is your gentle invitation:
Because real growth doesn’t always come from pushing harder —
Sometimes, it begins by stepping back, checking in, and choosing a path that actually feels like home.
